mixtape: reunion

For every band that announces they’re breaking up or taking an extended break, there seems to be at least one of yesteryear getting back together or coming out of extended sabbatical. It is almost cliche to find bands reforming, be it for the money, for the glory of a newfound popularity or just because they really did miss it and the creative juices are finally flowing again. Whatever the reason, there’s several reunions in the last 18 months or so that have and held a good part of my listening lately, which prompted me to put together a list specifically to focus on this phenomena. I tried to focus it on bands with five years or more since their previous studio album, especially if there was some kind of going away or coming back announcement that went along with the release, as well as bands specifically that are in my current listening.

If you know of any I missed an should be aware of, feel free to add them in the comments

Most Precious Blood “A Danger to Myself and Others” from D N R
Crowbar “Isolation (desperation)” from Sever the Wicked Hand
Living Sacrifice “Nietzsche’s Madness” from the Infinite Order
Deceased “Skin Crawling Process” from Surreal Process
Pestilence “Horror Detox” from Resurrection Macabre
Forbidden “Forsaken at the Gates” from Omega Wave
Nevermore “the Termination Proclamation” from the Obsidian Conspiracy
Anthrax “Fight em till you Can’t” from Worship Music
