mixtape: sludge

Today is awash with chilly rain, so it seemed like a good way to take advantage of the less than stellar spring weather with a look sludge and I trudge my way to work. There’s a pretty good mix of some interesting older material and some new releases I am still wrapping my brain around. I think a few people will be surprised by some of the choices included, and maybe even by the running order, but that’s the fun of mixes like this, is you can take a few liberties and still get the gritty groove going. Enjoy…

East of the Wall “Scumbrella – the Dirt Merchant” from Three-Way-Split
Neurosis “Burn” from the Eye of Every Storm
High on Fire “Fury Whip” from Death is the Communication
Mastodon “Megalodon” from Leviathan
Baroness “Swollen and Halo” from the Blue Record
the Ocean “Metaphysics of the Hangman” from Heliocentric
the End “the Never Ever Aftermath” from Elementary
Cursed “Reparations” from the Last Session
Poison the Well “Purple Sabbath” from I/III
Sepultura “We’ve Lost You” from A-Lex
Will Haven “June” from El Diablo
Entombed “In the Blood” from Serpent Saints
Sleep “Holy Mountain” from Holy Mountain
